On the afternoon of June 17, a lunch meeting was held for the representatives of excellent graduates of 2021 at the school meeting room. Zheng Xiaojian, Secretary of School Party Committee, Qiu Caiming, Dean of EIC, Cheng Wenqing, Deputy Dean of EIC, Hei Xiaojun, Deputy Director of the Department of Communication Engineering, student counselors and 15 excellent graduates attended the meeting. Pan Xin, student counsellor of class 2017, presided over the meeting.

Zheng Xiaojian first expressed thanks and his best wishes to the graduates. He pointed out that the achievements made by and support from the graduation class are essential to the development of EIC. He hopes that this lunch meeting can serve as a good opportunity for student representatives to freely propose their suggestions or opinions  on the further development of EIC.

At the lunch meeting, 15 graduates shared their learning experience at EIC and career plans, and put forward suggestions on teaching reform, talent training, career planning, student activities and supervisor selection. According to Li Zan and Hu Qingyue, the activity of “A Date with Supervisors” held by EIC on a regular basis not only serves as a bridge connecting teachers and students but also enables students to learn more about the research interest of teachers, which can help students to better choose their supervisors. Liu Yi, Liu Haonan and Guo Xiaomu suggested that more lectures on career planning be given to freshmen and sophomores so as to help students formulate career plans in advance. Fu Yuehui and Zhao Qihao expressed their gratitude to EIC for providing various cultivation modes and opportunities for its students. Teachers present at the meeting carefully listened to students’ opinions and suggestions.

At the end of the meeting, on behalf of EIC, Qiu Caiming first congratulated the students on their graduation. He pointed out that EIC will continue to hold the activity of “A Date with Supervisors” and promote faculty and student exchange by utilizing alumni resources so as to provide career planning guidance for undergraduate students. He emphasized that students of EIC should have not only good command of software programming but also solid and systematic basic knowledge. He extended his best wishes to the students, adding that EIC will always be there to welcome graduates back.
